Queenstown
Queenstown was an adventure: from the hairpin turns descending into the valley, to the Remarkable Mountains lining Lake Wakatipu, to our lessons on paragliding, thrills were at every turn.
Solo paragliding: more successful for Dominic than for me. Imagine us both hanging from large kites, gliding 50 meters through air; imagine Dominic's easeful landing on two feet; imagine me being dragged through trees (young trees, and mostly flexible, thankfully); imagine me being dashed upon the ground and then dragged. There were seven students in the class, and two accidents over the course of the day, both had by me. Aye yay yay...glad I made it out in one piece!
The day was gorgeous enough for the record books, the scenery untoppable, but I think I'll opt for the tandem tourist option in the future. Dominic, on the other hand, is eager to sprout wings...
